M. Sean Strother, M.D.

Dr. Strother is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He completed his Medicine internship and Dermatology residency at the University of Washington Medical Center, where he was the Chief Resident in Dermatology during his final year of training. He is a Board Certified Dermatologist who has been in practice in the Seattle area since 2001. Dr. Strother is a member of the national medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha and primarily focuses on medical and surgical dermatology.

In addition to his medical training, Dr. Strother received a master's degree in Entomology (the study of insects) from Louisiana State University prior to entering medical school. He has co-authored several chapters concerning skin problems caused by "creepy crawlies" and is frequently consulted by other local dermatologists regarding this fascinating area of dermatology.

Dr. Strother enjoys teaching and is on the clinical faculty of the University of Washington Medical Center. He teaches in the dermatology clinics at both the University of Washington and Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center. His love of teaching is evident, not only in his commitment to training new physicians, but in his approach to helping his patients understand their particular skin problems and the treatment options available to them.

Pixel® CO2

The newest break-through in laser skin resurfacing

Pixel® resurfacing is safe and comfortable

Pixel treatments are safe and effective, without injections or surgery. You can expect your skin to be flushed and red after the treatment-something similar to a sunburn. Your doctor may also prescribe an over-the-counter pain medicine to make you more comfortable. These symptoms are a normal part of the healing process and should improve quickly.

What is Pixel CO2 laser?
LASER SKIN RESURFACING that lifts away years from your face and stimulates new collagen to grow. It improves your skin's texture and tone to fight fine lines, wrinkles, and even acne scars.

It is an improvement on the older CO2 lasers because the laser beam has been "fractionalized", or divided into tiny pinpoints of light that actually remove surface skin damage. At the same time, the light reaches the lower layers of skin to stimulate collagen to fill in wrinkles and tighten.

Is there any discomfort?
It is not painless, but it is quick and tolerable with the application of numbing cream prior to the procedure. Numbing cream can be purchased at our office before your visit, or, by appointment, we can apply it for you if you arrive an hour before your procedure.

If you are ready to see some reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, and discoloration created by aging and sun damage, you can request a free consultation, call (425)296-0270 or email for an appointment.

Is there any healing time?
It generally only takes a 4-day weekend to heal for most people. It heals quickly and is much safer than the older CO2 treatments because the repaired skin has only to cover over the surface area of the tiny dots, rather than the whole treated area.

When will I see a difference?
There will be enough improvement after just one treatment for many patients to be satisfied. Skin will look gradually better over the few weeks following treatment. In most cases, though, three treatments should produce the results that you would like to see.

What areas can I have treated with the Pixel CO2?
We are currently treating face, neck, chest and backs of the hands.

Who will be performing my treatments?
These treatments will be performed by Dr. Cooperrider or one of our very experienced physician assistants.

Our Doctors

The doctors at Laser Treatment Center are Board Certified Dermatologists.

Peter A. Cooperrider, M.D.

Dr. Cooperrider introduced the Pacific Northwest to in-office high energy pulsed laser skin resurfacing, and now many doctors are performing it. Not content to develop just one technique, his knowledge and experience has grown in every aspect of cosmetic laser surgery including treatment of wrinkles, scars, spider veins, birthmarks, brown spots, tattoos, and hair removal. Most recently he has concentrated on new, comfortable, "no down time" methods of wrinkle treatment and skin rejuvenation.
